Total Tranmere brings you all you need to know about the County Ground and how to get there when Tranmere visit on 4th March. We have information on where to eat around the Stadium as well as travel details and directions to make your journey and visit as comfortable as possible.

Facilites for Away Fans: 

 

The Stand:

Up to 1,200 visiting fans can be housed in the Arkells Stand which is covered, all-seated and situated along one of the touchlines.

 

For larger away followings, up to 2,100 visiting fans can be housed in the Stratton Bank End which is all-seated but is uncovered and situated behind one of the goals.  

 

Where to Eat:

There are the usual catering facilities inside the Stadium but in addition there is a Chip Shop called The Frying Fish on Drove which is close to the Stadium.  There are further food outlets in the Town Centre which is around a ten minute walk from the Stadium.

 

Where to Drink:

The Cricket Club which is situated behind the Away Stand welcomes both home and visiting fans for both parking and a pre-match drink.  The County Hotel next to the Stadium is usually only for home fans but The Merlin Pub on Drove Road welcomes visiting fans although Club colours are not permitted there.

Car Parking

 

The County Ground is situated just next to the famous Magic Roundabout which is basically a large roundabout that has mini-roundabouts at each of its junctions just to complicate matters for drivers. 

 

There is some street parking around the Stadium but otherwise, the Cricket Club on County Road and St. Josephs School are both open for match-day car parking at a cost of around £3.00.

 

By Road

 

From the M4 Motorway:

§         Exit the M4 at Junction 15 and then take the A345 (Queens Drive) towards Drake's roundabout.

§         Turn left towards the Magic Roundabout, and the Stadium is visible from the roundabout.

 

From the North (A419):  

• Follow Cricklade Road down the hill until eventually it becomes Cirencester Way about halfway down.
• At Transfer Bridges roundabouts turn left at the first and then straight over the second.
• The Stadium is on the left after the mini-roundabout.

 

By Rail

 

The railway station is around a ten to fifteen minute walk from the Stadium.

 

§         Exit the station and cross the road.

§         Walk up the road between the Great Western and Queens Tap Pubs and continue to the end of this road.

§         Turn left along Manchester Road and go through the traffic lights.

§         Turn right at the next junction and the Stadium is on the left hand side of the road after around 300 yards.
