Doncaster’s record at the Earth Stadium speaks for itself with five wins and a draw in the last six matches. When you compare this to Tranmere’s recent away record, this match surely has only one outcome? Football can be a funny old game at times though and a win and a draw in their last two home games has halted Rovers recent worrying losing run.
Whilst Rovers’ last two slightly more positive results have been at home, they have only managed one win on their travels this year which is a statistic they need to change quickly. Having not won in the League home or away since 29th August, three points would be crucial for Brian Little’s men.
Doncaster also recorded a 2-0 Carling Cup win at home to League One rivals Gillingham on Tuesday night.

In terms of last season’s encounters between the two sides, the Rovers from Yorkshire certainly had the better of them with four points from the two games compared to Tranmere’s one point.
In the first of the two games (at the Earth Stadium), the sides cancelled each other out for a 0-0 draw but a bizarre return game at Prenton Park in March saw the tables swing the way of Doncaster.
Rovers found themselves 2-0 down after just five minutes before hitting back through Eugene Dadi and Paul Hall with the former being sent-off before half-time for an apparent raised elbow.
However, Doncaster hit two more goals in the second half as the extra man advantage told and Rovers slumped to a surprise 4-2 home defeat.
