Your chance to vote for your Tranmere Man of the Match from this afternoon's 2-1 home defeat to Eastleigh.....

Following this afternoon's undeserved 2-1 home defeat to Eastleigh, we are asking you to vote for you Tranmere Man of the Match from the game as part of our post-match poll series.

In a game that saw the probably the worst officiating to ever take place at Prenton Park, Rovers dominated the first half and should have gone ahead when James Norwood won a penalty before the break.  However, Andy Mangan's penalty was poor in spite of the cheating tactics of the Eastleigh goalkeeper in the build up to the kick and it remained goalless at half-time.

Two minutes into the second half, Rovers gifted the visitors an undeserved lead by allowing Partington a free header from a corner and soon after Maynard, after a first half booking that should never have been, foolishly made a silly tackle that earned him a second yellow card and Rovers' first dismissal of the season.

Eastleigh were then gifted a second goal as Liam Hogan's slip fell straight to Constable who finished easily to make it 2-0.  Constable then turned villain as he was dismissed but not before Rovers had gone down to nine men themselves after using up all their subs before Andy Mangan had to limp out of the game with no replacement available.

Steven Jennings added a goal with eleven minutes remaining but despite other chances including one for Norwood and a header just over from substitute Mekki, Rovers were unable to get the goal they deserved and the defeat drops them down to the final play-off place in fifth.

The character shown by all nine left on the pitch at the end was a credit to them all.

I went for Dawson. I thought up until he went off he was outstanding and looked a constant threat.

He'll be a big miss if out for Tuesday for sure!

I also agree with you Dawson until he was taken of then I'd have to give it either Harris or Davies for the 90 mins.
We need to sign Dawson and not let him slip away in January.
Gary Brabins done very well to bring him in. As there was a lot of doubt when we was told we was bringing a player in from Kidderminster who are bottom of the league.
Well Done GB

I agree Tranmere should sign up Dawson in January but is he actually available? He has a one year contract with Kidderminster who then loaned him out to Tranmere until Dec.

Can't make up my mind on Dawson yet.

He is undoubtedly a tricky and skilful player but he also hangs on to the ball for far too long.

On numerous times on Saturday he was throwing in tricks purely for the sake of it when the play was crying out for a first time pass. If we could get him and work on that side of his game then I'd say yes but he's second only to Myrie-Williams in the record books for needless lollipops.

As for Man of the match I think everyone bar Jackson and Mekki were in the running. Don't think I've ever felt as good after a defeat. Certainly proud of the way the team fought in that second half. Just sticks in the throat that the most cynical bunch of cheats I have ever seen in 30 years of watching Tranmere left Prenton Park with 3 undeserved points.

Still, we should have had the game sewn up by half time. Let's hope that it is a case of a season's worth of bad luck all done in one game.

Dawson is three times the player Myrie-Williams is/was. There is just no comparison!

I'll take seeing all the lollipops he wants to do if he gets the results!

3 is an underestimate.

I agree he is much better but he does have the same propensity to over elaborate more than is required.

On at least 4 or 5 occasions between them both Dawson and Mekki held on far too long when Norwood would have been in with a simple one-two.

Having said that, I'm fairly sure Lincoln fans will be thinking that the draw couldn't have got much worse for them - away to a team above them in the League!
