Tranmere striker Terry Gornell today joined League Two side Accrington Stanley on a month long loan deal in a bid to gain some vital first-team experience which at the moment cannot be offered at Prenton Park.

Having signed his first professional contract over the summer and after making his first team debut in the Carling Cup defeat away at Grimsby Town in early August, striker Gornell's chances have so far been limited in the Rovers first team with the emergence of Bas Savage and Craig Curran and the experience of Chris Greenacre and Ian Moore.

The move to Accrington will surely benefit Gornell greatly in the long-term and this afternoon he played the full second half after coming off the bench in Stanley's 3-0 away defeat at Darlington.

Total Tranmere would like to wish Terry all the best in his loan spell at Accrington in the forthcoming weeks.

He won't be a pro footballer if you put your house on him, he'll be squashed grinning smiley

Being serious, he's got massive potential and he has got to be given a longer contract by Tranmere.
