The biggest and most important day of the summer is here as we are able to bring you the key fixtures for the 2008/09 season following this morning’s release of the fixtures.

For copyright reasons, we are unable to provide you with a full fixture list here on Total Tranmere but we can reveal the important dates to you.

Rovers will open the season with an away tie against Swindon Town at Prenton The County Ground on Saturday 9^th August before a home game against Hartlepool United the following weekend.

The Christmas and New Year fixtures see Rovers play Hereford United away on Boxing Day before facing Walsall at home in the last game of 2008.  With no January 1^st fixture this season, Tranmere’s first game of 2009 will be away to Colchester United. Rovers’ season will end against Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park on 2nd May 2009.

Other key games of note include the home and away games against Leeds United on December 6^th (home) and April 18^th (away) whilst Tranmere visit newly relegated Leicester City on August 23^rd, with the Foxes visiting the Wirral on March 10^th.
