Rovers hold out for draw at the Liberty Stadium
By MikeyB October 8 2006
After losing at Bradford last weekend Rovers fought hard at the Liberty Stadium and earned themselves an expected point. Rovers will be disappointed with the amount of bookings they recieved which will most likely land them a fine.

Gaffers Verdict

"I thought we were magnificent.  We've got players missing and those who have come in have worked their socks off.  I thought it was a really good competitive performance.”

"We had chances in the first half and didn't take them.  The chance for Chris would have changed the game. Kevin had a chance, and Shane hit the post.  Swansea aren't a bad side, it's a difficult place to come and win games, but I've got nothing but praise for the lads.  We've limited them to a few chances.  We've earned every right to a point and with a bit of killer instinct in their box we could have won it.”

"Davies came in and was good.  Zola has this injury and it's still painful so there's no more injections for him, just rest.  With Taylor missing and Goodison missing with a family problem, we were without a bit of height and we thought that might cause us some problems, but we did alright.”

"I'd like to praise the fans as well.  They've come a long way on a Friday night and really got behind us and it would have been nice if Chris could have stuck that one in at their end to give them something to cheer."

“Meanwhile, the Manager revealed he came close to adding Jermaine Beckford to his squad before the game.  One minute we're overloaded with four strikers, the next we're down to the bare bones.  We'll have to see how Zola is and then decide what to do.”

"We just missed out with Beckford, he went to Carlisle.  The deal was more or less done when we tried to stop him from going."
