Tranmere finally managed to escape with a scrappy victory against
Tranmere created several chances and it could off been a rout if it wasn’t for the City keeper Adriano Basso.
Ronnie Moore went with the same line-up that he has used for the last four games.
Tranmere had many chances in the first half but just couldn’t finish them. In the opening 5 minutes the Tranmere fans got right behind the team and Gareth Taylor put a header wide from a Shane Sherriff cross.
Tranmere were playing good football and the team looked like they had gelled! Rovers soon had penalty appeals turned down, one which Ellison was pulled down and was surely a penalty.
City keeper pulled off a magnificent save when he stopped a powerful header from Chris Greenacre and th rebound from Gareth Taylor was cleared for a corner.
Rovers defence were kept on their toes as goodison blocked a close shot from Keogh on 30 minutes.
Rovers were then once again on the attack and Chris Greenacres shot was cleared off the line by Louis Carey for a corner but many Rovers fans were shouting for a penalty
Rovers started brightly in the 2nd half. In the 48th minute Iain Goodison forced a brilliant save out of Basso who had saved Citys lives many a time.

Robbie Stockdale then made a few important tackles as Rovers sealed the victory!
