Nothing But A Win Will Do

COME ON CHELSEA

Reading between the lines, Chelsea have only SEVENTEEN fit players for today's early evening kick-off against bottom of the league WBA at The Hawthorns. Yep SEVENTEEN fit players and two of those players are goalkeepers - Carlo Cudicini and Hilario.

Petr Cech was ruled out yesterday with a calf injury and joins Belletti, Alex, Di Santo, Carvalho, Joe Cole and long term injury victim, Michael Essien on the sidelines.

The last few days have been a bit doom and gloom with the Carling Cup exit, Didier being charged by the FA after the coin throwing incident, but there was a little bit of brightness around Cobham yesterday as Frank Lampard won the October Player of the Month award and Nic Anelka won the Golden Boot for becoming the first player to score 10 Premiership League goals this season.

Nic was also awarded £1,000 which he immediately donated to Chelsea's charity, CLIC Sargent.

As for today's game.

Well nothing but a win will do.

Top v bottom, away goals flying in left, right and centre and unbeaten on the road for the last NINE Premiership games.

I´m expecting a decent game. From what I´ve seen of West Brom this season they actually play some nice football.

Scolari´s quptes gigve the immpression he´s going to start with Drogba and play him for 65-70 mins. Also that Ballack will be on the bench and...this is strange...whilst Ashley Cole will travel Scolari knows he won´t play (So why take him then?!!! - why not one of the kids? - Unless this is a language problem from Scolari).

Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool ALL play before us today.

.

“It is born out of hypocrisy and fundamental insecurity. There have been two kids on the block for the past 12 years. Suddenly, there is a third and that one is threatening to be more successful than the others and they don’t like it" P Kenyon.

Seems to me Scolari is following the track of his predecessors - no kids, despite the millions spent at Cobham.

I know the Academy have a game today, but the reserves don't play again till next Monday - they are away to WBA
