Sorry Harry, Ballack DIDN'T Dive!!

Phil Wants to Win ALL
By Since66 September 25 2008
Big Phil and Chelsea showed their intentions last night to regain the Carling Cup after last season's debacle against Tottingham with a comprehensive victory over Portsmouth 4-0 at Fratton Park. Only a month ago Chelsea beat Pompey at Stamford Bridge by the same score.

I wrote the other day in my preview, who could be the team who would suffer most from last nights clash - Chelsea with their injury problems or Portsmouth after their drubbing by Abu Dabbi at the weekend.

With the team that Big Phil selected, it turned out to be Portsmouth.

Big Phil said, "If I didn't want to win this game I would have picked a different team."

Its obvious to me and to every other Chelsea fan, that Big Phil is sending out the right messages and WANTS to win every game that he is in charge off.

Cech, JT, Lampard, Drogba, Ballack (the spine of the Chelsea team all started) and Scolari included our 'kids' on the bench, including Di Santo, Scott Sinclair and for the first time Miroslav Stoch.

Both Scott and Franco got on the pitch, once the result was never in doubt.

As for the result.

What more could you ask for for? Three goals inside 10 minutes either side of half-time and Frank will never get an easier chance after David James flapped at a cross only for the ball to bounce off into the net from Super Frank's thigh for Chelsea's third.

Frank opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Ballack was brought down by Belhadj and sorry Harry, Ballack DIDN'T dive so therefore he isn't a cheat.

Franks 1st at Pompey

Malouda added a second (his sixth goal for Chelsea) right on half-time with a fine first time shot into James' right hand corner for the net.

Frank's thigh goal came after 47 mins and it was Kalou who made it 4-0, with some twenty minutes to go with his second goal in as many games.

Franks 2nd at Pompey

Next up for Chelsea is an away game in the Premiership at The Britannia Stadium against newly promoted Stoke City on Saturday, and guess what? The game kicks off at 3pm.

Perhaps your view was obscured but Ballack most definitely did dive. He left his foot behind him and fell like a Princess to the deck. The man is a bit of a cheat, we all know that.

Doesn't matter as Chelsea would tonked Pompey anyway but blatant dive from Ballack, admittedly after seeing a perfect opportunity with a dumb tackle in the box from Belhdadj.

Er..yes Ballack DID dive!! How can you defend him?
I cannot understand why a player of an obviously superior team has to resort to that . It really annoys me. Apart from that disgrace Chelsea were well worth their victory. Good luck to them for the rest of the tournament- And hey Mr Ballack cut it out and concentrate on playing the game fairly- even opposition fans applaud you when you do that.
