Don Howe Squad is Stronger for New Season

Former Arsenal Manager Don Howe believes that Arsenal are entering the new season with a very strong squad. Yes Pires and Bergkamp have gone, although he doubts Campbell will leave.

But it is the fact that the youngsters have even more experience, plus the signing of Rosicky, and the introduction of Walcott that makes him confident. Van Persie and Adebayor are improving all the time, and should be able to add even more in the new season.

Howe is not disheartened by Chelsea’s spending, indeed he welcomes the signing of Shevchenko and Ballack as it will make the Premiership even more attractive. He argues it is a challenge that Arsenal can step up to. “When we are in the mood, we play better football than Chelsea or indeed any other side in England."

He also notes that Liverpool and Spurs are big spenders, but in spite of Spurs spending Arsenal still finished above them. Nice one Don
