Burnley 2 - 3 Watford

Burnley crashed to a second consecutive defeat at home to end Easter Weekend in misery. The results could not have gone much worst for the clarets and they are now only one point from the drop zone, albeit with a game in hand.

Here are my brief views of the game - a game where the clarets looked poor and not up for the fight.

Ok, here goes

Today one word = gutless - the players looked jaded and really looked bereft of ideas.

Jensen - 3 = Once again the big man looked unsure of himself, but made a cracking first half save.

Camara - 2 = Worst game I have seen of him for a long time.

Branch - 3 = Gave away what looked a clear penalty, and was again caught out of position.

Macca - 6* = Scored a goal and had rare Burnley fight.

Roche - 5 = Decentish 1st half, but unspectacular.

Little - 4 = I am not sure if he was there today.

Grant - 5 = Best of a bad bunch in midfield.

Weller - not on long enough

Wood - not on long enough

Lenny - 3 = a few hard tackles, but used the ball poorly. He is clearly not a first division player, maybe not even division two.

Blake - 4 = poor by his standards - but if he goes to Rovers we are in trouble.

Moore - 3 = Did nothing all game and really has not learnt how to play with a big man.

Adebola - 5 = scored and gave us some presence.

Overall this was a dismal performance, how ironic it maybe the away form that keeps us up. Mark my words, if we keep playing like this we risk going down - we looked tired. Injuries are piling up and that cannot be good for any team, especially with Johnrose not up to the game amongst others.

The ref was pedantic and awful, but equally worries must surface about the lack of direction from the technical area with Stan absence. Chadwick came on and then went off, but it took about 10 minutes for the coaches to decide if Wood should go off and then who should come on.

We looked tired and lacked fight and I for one am worried.

For the next game we can only hope Chaplow, Wood recover and Weller. May must replace Branch who again looked low on confidence.

Crowd were poor today and offered little support, being nosier in slamming a poor referee. But Burnley are in trouble - many fans are beginning to ask why they should shell out more cash for this poor football - espeically as the board and Stan keep stating - next year will be a harder struggle.
