Kevin McDonald Signs In
By TheLongside.co.uk June 24 2008
After all the big news of yesterday it was more than anyone could hope for to be heralding the arrival today of Owen Coyle's latest capture Kevin McDonald. The club officially announced this afternoon that Dundee's Kevin McDonald has signed a 3 year contract.

We are led to believe the fee with add ons and incentives will be in the region of £500,000. The 6ft 3ins right midfield player is another very welcome promising young player.

Kevin is just 19 years old, he made his debut for Dundee in a cup game against Hamilton at the very young age of 16. Two weeks later he made his League debut against St Johnstone. He was a regular for the Scotland under 19's side and more recently he is playing for the Scotland International under 21's.

Even though Kevin is only 19 he has already played more than 100 games for Dundee, notching up 16 goals, and shows tremendous promise.

He will wear the Number 7 shirt and is a very welcome addition to the squad indeed.

Is it possible that we will make 3 signings this week? We will have to await the outcome of the application for a work permit for Peruvian goalkeeper Penny, we should know the answer on Friday.

It'd be nice to have some goals from midfield for a change (McCann aside), I think we should keep him there and get another 15+ a season striker, presuming Paterson will reach 15 himself.

Looking good a youthful midfield, a mix of strength, speed and skill up to and a goalie who (if we get a permit) who can command his penalty box.
