Gow signed for Rangers in the summer of 2007 and was given the squad number 15, this after a January swoop for the Falkirk front man of £100.000 was turned down, Falkirk had been holding out for half a million, but lost him on a bosman free that summer when he signed a pre-contract to the Glasgow team.

Gow made his Rangers debut against David Beckham's LA Galaxy in May 2007 at the Home Depot Centre, but was unable to hold down a regular spot at Ibrox under manager Walter Smith, and spend much of his season their in the reserves.

Alex McLeish gave Alan his first taste of international football in February 2007 when he came off the bench to score in the 2-2 draw with Finland, at Rugby Park, Kilmarnock

June 2008 and he is meat in the sandwich as make weight for the Kyle Lafferty deal taking Alan Gow to Turf Moor along with £3million(a club record sale),and Lafferty going the other way, he becomes the second Rangers player to travel south, following Chris Vinnicome who made the trip 14 years ago.

Alan Gow who plays as an attacking midfielder who can play left or centre, will be a great addition to the Clarets squad standing at six feet tall and at the relatively young age of 25, he should become a crowd favourite.
