This indeed was a special day for the kids at the school, to meet one of their idols and have a chance to have autographs and questions answered, just something special for them.

You may remember a little while back we chose Christ The King as recipients for a very special reason, and that reason was in memorium to Jim Reeves one of The Longside's very own posters and indeed a former pupil of the school. Jim unfortunately lost his battle against illness late last year, and as a fitting tribute to a lifelong Clarets fan the team decided that his former school should receive the tickets.

It was intended that we would have members of the Longside at the presentation, but unfortunately the club did not inform us, as they were supposed to of the date, and as a consequence we could not bring you a more detailed report. Although there was a small article printed in the matchday programme against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday 15th March.

Anyways I am sure all the kids will have a great day out, and hopefully if we have a similar sponsorship deal next season, we can have a much more detailed report for you.
