Duncan MacGillivray Preliminary Squad Of 40 For Euro Nations Cup
By Gavin Willacy - August 31 2005
Scotland have announced a 40-man preliminary squad for the European Nations Cup this autumn. Included are scrum-half Danny Brough, star of Hull’s Challenge Cup win last Saturday and 11 other players from Super League clubs alongside 10 amateur players from the Scotland A and Student squads. >
They include players from Easterhouse Panthers, Fife Lions and Edinburgh Eagles. All in all, there are 18 players uncapped at pro level, with hooker Andrew Hnderson joined for the first time by brothers Ian and Kevin, and a first call-up for Graeme Horne, brother of Hull, Scotland and Great Britain star Richard Horne.

Jon Steel (ex Borders and Glasgow), who won 5 Scotland rugby union caps before switching codes this year gets a call-up along with his Hull KR team-mate Gareth Morton (ex Borders), who won a Scotland RL cap before switching codes and was capped at Under-21 level by Scotland while in rugby union.

Scotland play Wales in Bridgend on Sunday 16 October and Ireland in Glasgow Hawks on Sunday 23 October.
