Winger Nick Baxter is back
in the Pertemps Bees squad for the first time in almost a month for the National
League One relegation showdown with London Welsh at Sharmans Cross Road on
Saturday January 21 (2pm).
The most prolific try-scorer in English league history has not played since the
defeat at Nottingham on December 27 because of a chronic knee injury but he has
been passed fit enough to take his place on the replacements' bench.
If Baxter gets on he will be attempting to score the one try he needs to become
the first player to the 150 milestone in National League or Premiership rugby.
He scored his 149th in the defeat at Doncaster on December 10.
Prop Jason Hobson, who has been signed on loan from Bristol, has also been named
as a replacement, his first inclusion in the Pertemps Bees squad. Hobson was
born and raised in Solihull but his family moved to Cornwall where he started to
play rugby.
There are three changes to the side that performed so valiantly in defeat at
Plymouth Albion last week.
Winger Allan Gill, who made an encouraging league debut in the defeat at
Harlequins earlier this month, displaces Aaaron Takarangi, Andrew Le Chevalier
has been preferred to Adrian Olver at loosehead prop and Alex Davidson has been
recalled to the second row in place of Ed Orgee.
Duncan White, who can play in either the back or second rows, returns to the
squad as a replacement after a month out injured.
