Bees 36-10 S'bridge
By Elliott Josypenko August 7 2004
At a hot and sticky (but well populated) Stourton Park, Bees took on Stourbridge in the first match of the year.

As most suspected, it was quite like watching an England friendly with Phil “Sven” Maynard using around 38-45 players over the four periods of 20 minutes but overall I think most would agree that it was useful.

I tried making a team list for the first 20 but only got 5 of the players! Over the course of the “match” every one of the Bees squad was used except five absentees. I couldn’t see Alex Davidson who is struggling with his shoulder and by all accounts may struggle to be fit for a long while. Also Backo was not playing (but on the sidelines), as was Ed. Also not present were Shaun Woof and Woody, although it might just have been that I missed them.

In the first quarter it was mostly triallists and reserves. They managed to go into the break at least 19-0 up. Making his debut for the team, 17 year old Luke Smith on the wing who scored a try.

To be honest a report can’t really be written for this match purely because it wasn’t really a match.

It was a good runout for the Bees and they did alright at most aspects. I was slightly worried with the lineouts but considering 4 hookers were used, that may change.

I think the final score was 36-10 to the Bees.

REMEMBER- MOSELEY AT HOME NEXT SATURDAY
