Sunderland receive take over offer
By Mark Dunn January 4 2005
Sunderland football club have received a take over offer from chairman Bob Murray. Murray already owns 37.5% in the club. The bid is rumered to be in the region of £1.5 million and will see Murray take full control of Sunderland.
The reason Bob Murray has apparently made this bid is to try and make it easier for the club to get a buyer by only having one owner to deal with. But there could be problems if this dosen't work. For example if the club does not sell then Murray could give the club away for next to nothing which would see the club being the next Leeds. If the club is not sold then the club could also face administration or liquidation if something is not done to help. If this bid does go ahead then this plan of Mr Murrays could work and bring Sunderland out of this hole.
