Steve Cook reports "Redcar are able to welcome back a number of players following the Christmas break. In the forwards, Mark Leat returns to the front row in his favoured loose head position, his first senior game since snapping his achilles against Sandal last season. Carl Leach, at last available after serving his notice period with the fire brigade returns to the second row. Neil Young moves into the back row, along side Gareth Richardson and Ritchie Barker.

In the backs, Redcar welcome back Liam Turner and Gareth Foreman. Liam will take the place of Jamie Connolly and Gareth will take up the outside centre berth, with Graham Hathaway and Mat Hemmingway continuing in the 9 & 10 positions. Fabian Busson has also returned to the club and will start from the bench."
