The 30-year-old had attracted interest from Championship side Leeds United but has decided to stay at the Hawthorns instead as they will look to stay in the Premiership after winning promotion from Division One last season.
"He only had one year left on his contract with no option at the end of it and it was important we offered him this new contract so he can fully concentrate on his role in the squad," manager Gary Megson told the club's official website www.wba.co.uk.
"Since Andy has been with us he has always given us 110%, his work-rate is second to none and he is a great personality."
