Coventry City are to play a pre-season friendly against near-neighbours Nuneaton Boro. Let's hope that, unlike last season fixture versus Bedworth, the term 'friendly' is remembered, and stupid long-term injury sustaining challenges are kept to a minimum. There are also rumours of fixtures in Austria, any of the Nordic countries, and Scotland....
Coventry City want to sign Kasper Schmichael and the recently transfer-listed Freddie Eastwood .... but so do a few other clubs too. On the off chance KS's future lies elsewhere, Coventry City are also said to be interested in Ghanaian keeper William Amamoo. And plans to try and re-sign Gary McSheffrey have probably been knacked by Birmingham's relegation from the Premiership.
Half-a-dozen or more clubs are said to be interested in signing Stephen Hughes, and with it looking increasingly likely that Michael Doyle will still be here next season, let's hope somebody takes him, because something has to change in midfield for Coventry City. And, like a bad smell you just can't get rid of, Nottingham Forest are rumoured to be after Leon Best, again.
The date for purchasing Early Bird priced season tickets has been put back to June 30th, with Coventry City saviour Joe Elliott urging supporters to snap them up. A couple of decent signings should hopefully boost the numbers sold, presuming the club let enough people know....
Mickey Adams has returned to Brighton as manager, while Iain Dowie is being linked with the chance to spend the multi-millions of pounds supposedly at QPR's disposal. There's a fair few players still on Coventry City's books he's welcome to come back and poach (That applies to Adams too).
