The away ticket allocation was completely sold out, with those that made the short journey know doubt hoping the Sky Blue Revival would roll on against our local rivals - only to find said revival de-railed for the day.
Trying to choose a 'Man Of The Match' for the away side was possibly as difficult as it was to stay watching, as once again our beloved Coventry City failed to turn up for another local derby.
Bendtner, scorer of the Denmark goal that defeated Germany midweek, had an early effort saved by Marshall, before Jaidi opened the scoring for Birmingham in the thirteenth minute. From then on, the home side rarely looked as if they would do anything other than take all three points.
The Coventry defence were poor, with Ward looking far from the assured player of recent weeks, while the midfield were anonymous, with our strikers deprived of anything like decent service. Nice reality check!
There was a brief rally at the start of the second half, but Virgo spurned a decent chance to draw the sides level (He was also guilty of a poor miss with the score at 2-0).
It was left to Jay Tabb's former team-mate at Brentford, DJ Campbell, to put the away side out of their misery. Having come on as a substitute just after an hour, he helped himself to goals in the 65th and 77th minutes (His first coming very soon after a double substition by Dowie).
Many are asking if the 'Honeymoon Period' is over - I would like to think this was merely an 'off day'.
