Imps miss out on unambitious Elding
By Nathan Jackson
January 16 2006
The Imps have missed on Anthony Elding as the striker rejected a move into the league and joined Kettering Town. The striker's ambition has seriously come into question with this move as instead of moving up 1 division, he's "relegated" himself to the Conference South side.

Elding joined up with Kettering Town on Monday for £40,000 in a move that has stunned all the clubs who were after him. Out of all the teams who offered Elding a move, Kettering Town were easily the lowest placed team, 2 divisions below several interested League Two teams including the Imps, Barnet and Oxford United.

It is the third player that City have missed out on in the transfer window as Jon Parkin joined Hull City and Keith Alexander ruled out paying £50,000 on Iseyden Christie because the striker was out of contract in the summer, interestingly, Keith was willing to pay over £100,000 for Parkin who's contract was also up in the summer.

Keith Alexander has stated that the fans shouldn't worry that the Imps haven't signed anyone yet and he did state that he is only looking to bring in players who are better than what we already have, which is certainly a change from the past and is very welcome news.
