Parkin agrees to sign for City
By Nathan Jackson
January 11 2006
Jon Parkin has agreed to join Championship relegation fodder, Hull City leaving the Imps with no known transfer targets. Jon Parkin is the only player that the Imps have made an offer for so far this month and after the promise of activity in the transfer window, this is a worrying sign.

Lincoln had originally tried to sign Parkin just over a week ago with the Imps offering a rumoured £100,000 as well as Dean Keates and Francis Green. This was easily the highest bid made as laughable £50,000 bids were made from Chester and Southend, however, all bids were rejected and now the prolific striker is heading to Hull City according to many reports where he will join another new striker, Daryll Duffy.

This is definatly a worrying sign for the Imps as over a 1/3 into the month, the Imps have yet to make a bid to sign any other players, many will say that this is due to the recent troubles at the club, however this argument is nullified by the bid for Parkin that was made in the middle of those troubles. The Imps have been linked with Iseyden Christie from Kidderminster, however, Keith Alexander has denied wanting to sign the striker.

The most worrying part about this is that the club seems willing to offload players as Asamoah has alomst completed his transfer to Chester and we now appear to becoming a selling club again. Even more worrying is that if Keith is allowed to spent the sort of money that the club offered for Parkin, Keith's record when it comes to spending more than £10,000 isn't a particulary good one. A combined £100,000 (with sell on clauses) were spent on Lee Beevers and Francis Green, two players who have very rarely excelled at Sincil Bank and the purchase of Iseyden Christie would just continue this trend.

Worrying times ahead?
