Parkin bid rejected
By Nathan Jackson
January 5 2006
Macclesfield Town have rejected the Imps 6 figure + players transfer offer for prolific striker, Jon Parkin. Macclesfield also rejected a bid from Chester City and in a statement this morning, Rob Bickerton declared that he didn't and never has had any interest in selling Parkin.

City reportedly offered £170,000 and two un-named players for Parkin, a deal worth over £150,000 more than Chester's measley £50,000 offer, however, Rob Bickerton released the following statement on Macclesfield's official website.

"We have not invited bids for Jon and indeed hope he stays at Macc well beyond this summer. But it's only fair to all parties that serious offers which meet Jon's career ambitions and our significant valuation of him should recieve due consideration."

This statement means that it's almost certain than the Imps will miss out on Jon Parkin but luckily, there are still 26 days left in the transfer window so hopefully the Imps will be able to bring someone in soon.
