Chester pull out of Parkin race
By NatHan Jackson
January 4 2006
Chester have had a £50,000 bid for Jon Parkin rejected leaving only City's offer for the Silkmen to ponder. Although Macclesfield are in financial danger, a bid of £50,000 was a joke and although it is unconfirmed how high City's bid is, it is believed to run into 6 figures.

It was the 3rd time Chester have had a bid rejected by the Silkmen and this afternoon. Chester had been looking to improve recent form that's seen 5 defeats in a row. Chester infact beat the Imps to the signing of Gregg Blundell in the summer but the Imps could have the last laugh by signing Parkin. Macclesfield chairman, Rob Bickerton confirmed the rejection earlier today.

"A bid was made from Chester and it's been rejected," Bickerton said. This means that Lincoln City's bid remains as the only confirmed bid for the striker, which is believed to be in the 6 figure range and Bickerton is believed to be seriously considering the offer that would see nearly half of Macclesfield's debts paid off
