Peter Jackson may have a better winning percentage than either Keith Alexander and John Schofield, but the difference is that Jackson also has a considerably worse losing percentage. Jackson's Imps have lost nearly half of the games in which he has been their manager, with Schofield losing just over 40% and Keith losing just over a third.
Keith Alexander 2002-2006 (171 GAMES - another 13 managed by Gary Simpson during Keith's treatment)) | ||

DRAW | 48 | 28.24% |
LOSE | 57 | 33.53% |
Another worrying trend with Jackson, unlike the previous permanent managers is that Jackson certainly doesn't know how to use his substitutes. On many occasions over the past twelve months, Jackson has waited until it is too late to make substitutions. The most prime examples of this came in two games this season. The first being a home game against Dagenham and Redbridge. City were playing poorly and had just gone 2-1 down, no activity could be seen on the City bench. It was only until Dagenham scored a very late third that there was even any movement on the bench....by which time it was too late.

SITUATION | OCCURANCES | PERCENTAGE |
WIN | 23 | 35.38% |
DRAW | 14 | 21.54% |
LOSE | 28 | 43.08% |
The second incident coming in the FA Cup defeat to Kettering Town. Jackson clearly thought that extra-time was coming and instead of making the substitutions with about 10/15 minutes to go to get the players warmed up, he decided to wait until Kettering had scored before bringing on two players.

LOSE | 20 | 46.51% |
These aren't the only frustrating parts of Jackson's management as he is consistantly playing a formation THAT DOES NOT WORK. What is the point of only playing one striker when you hoof it up to them? The best that they can do is head it down into no-man's-land and watch as a defender swoops it clear. Ben Wright for example, he won a lot of headers against Kettering but he had no one with him to take advantage.
Many people will claim it's a 4-3-3, but when you're playing 4-3-3 then I'd certainly want a more consistant performer than Dany N'Guessan being one of the three, and his opposite having the worst first touch since Jamie Hand. It amazes me that Jackson is constantly playing players that simply don't perform. Infact, there are only about four players who I think are reasonably consistant and they are Rob Burch, Danny Hone, Janos Kovacs and Stefan Oakes.
Then of course we link Oakes to these supposed "magnificant" signings that Jackson makes. I certainly wouldn't call Gall magnificant, I'd even go as far as saying that playing with Gall is effectively playing with 10 men. I don't give a flying whoopy-di-do if he puts effort in, the fact is that he is just shit. I'm not going to hold back, Gall is a pile of absolute toss and I really can't wait until he sods of back to Carlisle in January.
Infact, Jackson's loan signings have generally been a load of crap. Lee Ridley had the turning circle and speed of the Titanic avoiding icebergs, Adam Smith never got a look in and I feel I've let you all know what I think of Gall. Infact, regarding Adam Smith, what made Peter think that a player who didn't get a look in at a League Two club would be a worthy punt to take on loan? His permanent signings haven't exactly been great....then again, half of them never play so what was the point in bringing them in?
Jackson clearly believes in his own hype, but it's a pity that his hype doesn't quite match reality. We are not, nor have we ever been the envy of League Two. You go on about it being a level playing field now that Peterborough and MK Dons are going....I must have forgot that there were only ever two promotion places, god forbid if we ever finished third or, have the cheek to sneak into the Playoffs. I mean, there was never any chance of doing anything last season because Peterborough and MK Dons were in the division.....what a defeatist attitude.
I don't think that Jackson has earned a new contract at all. We're pretty much in exactly the same situation that we were in last season, looking mediocrity in the fact...and don't let the fact that we're only five points off of the Playoffs fool you. Let's look at the wins we have had. We've beaten Barnet, Chester and Macclesfield, not exactly three teams that will ever appear in the "Who's who" of great footballing teams. We were lucky to win at Bournemouth.....no, it wasn't a good performance, we were just lucky that the referee disallowed goals that they deserved. Gillingham and Chesterfield were also god awful, so in short, we haven't actually beat anyone good.
I'm happy to be proved wrong and Jackson guide us to promotion, but playing his tactics and the team that he insists on playing will see us go no-where.

I don't think he does. He has raised the profile of the club, debatable as I think he is trying to raise his own profile for another job after he fails in this one
