O'Neill gracious in defeat
By Nathan Jackson July 16 2008
Martin O'Neill has been gracious following his Aston Villa's 3-1 defeat at Sincil Bank. City won the game thanks to goals from Janos Kovacs, Lenell John-Lewis and Ben Wright, that despite Villa taking an early lead through John Carew. O'Neill described the Imps performance as "very good" and that we looked exceedingly sharp, a far cry from last season.

O'Neill, one of the most respected manager's in the Premier League, has shown his gracious side following his team's poor performance at Sincil Bank, resulting in a 3-1 win for the Imps.

"I felt Lincoln played very well and gave us a few problems. I think we can sharpen up immensely. Last Saturday we were a wee bit untidy and tonight we were similar." He continued telling Aston Villa's official website, "We started off brightly enough and got ourselves a goal. After that we were making changes all the time, so it was hard to get any free-flowing movement. But the idea is to try and get as many players as possible."

The next friendly for the Imps is an away trip to Sleaford Town on Friday night. Aston Villa will go into the Intertoto Cup.

He's honest, i like honest managers and he doesn;t say anything bad at all he's probably the best manager in the premiership media wise, Jose Moriniho just speaks the first thing that pops into his head, which i aslo repsected but went OTT.

Cheers for the compliment O'Niel

cant get too carried away after winning a friendly, certainly a very good result but lincoln will be judged on august 9th and then on.
dont want to sound downbeat, just throwing in a bit of caution
