To be Frank, City sign ex-Chelsea man
By Nathan Jackson
July 1 2008
Frank Sinclair has completed his move to Sincil Bank. The Premiership veteran has signed a one year deal and has been described by Peter Jackson as a major coup for Lincoln City. Sinclair played for Jacko at Huddersfield and becomes the latest player to join the Imps as Peter Jackson builds a squad capable of promotion.

Sinclair is the second former Huddersfield player to join the Imps, following on David Graham. He joins Stefan Oakes, Janos Kovacs, Graham, Aaron Brown and Rob Burch as being part of the Lincoln City squad that will launch a full on assault on League 2 next season.

Frank, who has played as a centre back for most of his career, has spent time with Chelsea, Leicester, Burnley and Huddersfield. His arrival could spell the beginning of the end for several members of City's defence. Paul Green will more than likely keep his place at right back but it's hard to see where Lee Beevers and Dann Hone will fit in.

Sinclair has signed a 1 year deal at Sincil Bank and will be part of the squad that goes to Harrogate Town next Friday.

Have to say I have slight reservations about this signing, and the majority of Foxes fans I've spoke to thought he was past his sell by date 3 years ago.

Think Peter Daniel, Kingsley Black etc ..... all Cup winners in their day, but cack when they played at SB

Hope he proves me wrong!

Probably agree that Beevers may find that pure commitment isnt enough to keep a long term place in the squad, but I think Jacko may see Danny Hone as one for the future, and he will be using him as cover and expecting him to learn from the likes of Sinclair. He's still only a kid really and he didn't let us down when he came in last season. I fully expect him to play quite reqularly next season, possibly coming on from the bench later in a game when hopefully it's won for us. If you dont play the young uns when its safe to do so how are they going to learn and improve? Frank Sinclair has only signed for one season at the moment, maybe one more after that and he will be possibly past it, so we are going to need the likes of Hone in the future.
