Two Ex-Imps find new clubs
By Nathan Jackson
June 27 2008
Two former Lincoln players have today found new clubs to represent next season. Nat Brown, released from Lincoln City on Thursday afternoon, has joined Wrexham as Brian Little attempts to bring together a side capable of winning promotion straight back into the Football League.

Nat Brown joined the Imps in 2005 from Huddersfield Town, rejecting the chance to join Shrewsbury Town. He was a near permanent fixture in his first season and a semi-regular in his second. However, last season saw him make several mistakes and it was little surprise when Peter Jackson released him, the second time Jackson has said goodbye to Brown in the space of three years.

The other Ex-Imp to move on today was Simon Rayner. The former Imps goalkeeper has left Torquay United and signed for Crawley Town. Rayner, never given a fair chance for regular first team football at Sincil Bank, was the number one transfer target for Crawley according to Steve Evans.

“Simon Rayner was my number 1 transfer priority this summer and obviously I am delighted he has joined us. It has taken many hours to get this done as the player has been visiting family in Canada. I do not want to think what my mobile phone bill will come to, however it has been all worthwhile given the big man has joined us. He has a big presence in goal given his size."
