Jackson said that he hoped to reveal a new signing at "Jacko Evening" but despite not having officially signed yet, Peter is extremely confident that the former Chelsea, Leicester and Huddersfield man will join the Imps tomorrow.
Sinclair has played over 500 games during a career that has spanned 18 years. His career started off at Chelsea. He formed an interesting looking back line with defenders such as Erland Johnson, Eddie Newton and Steve Clarke. His time at Chelsea could be considered a success. He has won the FA Cup (and also a losing finalist in 1994), a League Cup winner and a competor in the Cup Winners Cup. You'd be hard pushed to find any other player in the lower leagues with that sort of pedigree.
His time at Chelsea came to an end when Leicester took him to Filbert Street. His time was less of a success. Despite winning the League Cup in 1999/2000, Sinclair's time at Leicester will be remember for the numerous own goals that he scored. His own goals became the subject of a section dedicated purely to him on the "Own Goals and Gaffes" DVD.
Sinclair later went on to represent Burnley and Huddersfield. However, the proudest moment for Sinclair will arguably pulling on the yellow, green and black of Jamaica in the 1998 World Cup. He couldn't prevent Jamaica going out after the group stage, including a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Argentina, but he did help them with their only World Cup win to date, a 2-1 win over Japan.
At 5'8, it will certainly be a very strange sight to see if he and 6'4 Kovacs are the regular pairing at the heart of the defence.
