MADEJSKI SETS SUMMER BUDGET

Chairman John Madejski has set Coppell's summer budget and on an interview on 'Reading World' he said "We've got budgets, that goes without saying, and we've just got to prepare those for next season and kiss goodbye to the 2 million we lost this season."

By this I believe he is referring to Convey and Goater even though Goater was signed the season before.

This could mean Madejski is going to be more careful with his money, but due to the fact he has promised at least 4 new signings and we were also believed to have made a £1 million bid for Lita, it most likely means he'll give at least 2 million but will trust Coppell to spend wisely.

The chairman also added "We'll see what's out there, what we can afford and how we can best take Reading FC forward", this could mean he has set a budget but will make exceptions if necessary in Coppell's plans.

In other news along with Kevin Doyle, 18 year old Shane Long who is also from Cork City is in talks with Reading FC. He is an U19 Republic of Ireland international who broke into Cork City's first team last season.
