Reading are in to the next round of the Carling Cup after a comfortable 3:1 at the hands of ocal rivals, Oxford United at there new three sided Kassam Stadium. The first half was goalless with Reading dominating proceedings. Reading continued to push in the second half and there determination payed off when John Salako scored his first goal of the season. Nicky Forster then doubled the advantage with a good run and even better finish.
Reading were given a scare near the end when a Matt Robinson cross was headed in but Royals class was evedent and they finished the game off with a Harper goal that was created due to the good work from on loan Omar Daley.
A good night for the Royals though the game was marred with incidents in the concourse during the game.
Ref Watch - Same ref from the Ipswich game, a one Mr Curson! Was rather better this time round though.
Man Of The Match - Nicky Forster had a very good game with the defence coping with most of the proplems. A team effort
Overall - 9/10, A great night for all Loyal Royals!!
