England Sevens - Paris 27/28th May 2006

England Sevens next and penultimate round of the IRB Sevens Series 2006, will be in Paris at the Stade Jean Bouinon Stadium 27/28th May.

Fiji are the top seedings having won in Singapore to establish a 10-point lead over second-placed England.  The series is set for a gripping climax, including the Emirates London Sevens at Twickenham in June..   New Zealand's reign as holders of the overall IRB Sevens Series Champions will come to an end.   England who have had an excellent run this series are still in with an excellent chance of catching Fiji.  IRB Tournament Operations Manager Beth Coalter.had this to say of Fiji and England

"While the overall standard this season has been higher than ever, Fiji and England have been the two outstanding sides," 

"They have been the most consistent and with only 10 points between them in the series it looks like it could go right down to the wire, which is a great thing with television and radio broadcast figures now so strong." 

England will name the final 12 man squad prior to the team's departure for Paris on Thursday 25th May.
