England Rugby-2008 Royal Bank of Scotland Six Nations Match Officials. England have referees C. Joubert, on 2nd Feb, A. Rolland on the 10th Feb & our regular favorite (NOT) yes you guess it Steve Walsh on the 23rd Feb, J. Kaplan on the 8th Mar & for the last match on the 15th Mar S.Dickinson. Update:31/1/08 Ref Chris White has withdrawn from the 6n due to injury.

RBS Six Nations 2008 - Match Officials Appointed
The RBS Six Nations 2008 Match Officials are announced and England have referees C. Joubert, A. Rolland and our regular favourite (NOT) yes you guess it Steve Walsh as well as Kaplan and Dickinson. England always seem to manage to get Steve Walsh who has been in the past a bit of a thorn in the side of England. Kaplan replaces White in Six Nations
Tuesday 22nd January 2008
Referee Chris White is injured and has been replaced by Jonathan Kaplan for the opening match of the 2008 Six Nations. It is one of recent changes to the match officials.
Chris White will officiate on that weekend, as the television match official in the place of Rob Debney when Scotland play France at Murrayfield.

Revised match official appointments announced
Injury means Chris White will not take charge of Ireland v Italy this weekend
The International Rugby Board has confirmed that England’s Chris White has withdrawn from refereeing Saturday’s opening RBS Six Nations match between Ireland and Italy at Croke Park.
The Englishman, who was a key member of the Rugby World Cup 2007 referee panel, has been ruled out owing to a minor calf injury and will be replaced by South Africa’s Jonathan Kaplan.
“It is a blow for Chris to be missing the opening game of the Championship through injury. However, it is not serious, we will be monitoring his progress and we hope to see him back to full fitness in a couple of weeks in order to perform his other Championship appointments,” said IRB Referee Manager Paddy O’Brien.
Amended 2008 RBS Six Nations Match Official Appointments (Jan 2008)
White’s withdrawal means that there are also changes to the Championship Touch Judge appointments. Wayne Barnes will take White’s place for France versus Ireland on February 9, while Nigel Owens comes in for the Englishman for Ireland versus Scotland on February 23.
The two further changes made to the Touch Judge appointments announced last October are Peter Allan replacing the recently retired Malcolm Changleng for Wales against Italy on February 23, while David Changleng has been added to the Ireland versus Italy fixture this weekend.

The New Zealander, who was a key member of the Rugby World Cup 2007 referee panel, has withdrawn due to a serious family illness and is heading back to New Zealand.
Ireland’s very experienced referee Alain Rolland will now take charge of the Murrayfield Test. Rolland is one of the world’s top referees having refereed the Rugby World Cup 2007 final in Paris last October.
The change is a straight referee swap and does not affect the appointments of the other match officials. Touch Judge 1 is Bryce Lawrence (New Zealand), Touch Judge 2 is Taizo Hirabayashi (Japan) and the TMO is Chris White (England).
