RFU ELITE REFEREES
To take charge of four RBS Six Nations Matches for the first time!

Colin High, The RFU’s Elite Referees manager announced today that for the first time in the Union’s history that four RFU Elite Referees would be in charge of matches during the RBS 6 Nations in 2007.
Wayne Barnes will be the referee for the opening game of the RBS 6 Nations 2007, Italy against France, with Tony Spreadbury (France v Wales) Dave Pearson (Scotland v Ireland) and Chris White (Italy v Wales) completing the four.
Colin High said “This is a huge honour for the RFU and the Elite Referees and Elite Rugby department. It’s a landmark achievement and one which the department and the RFU are very proud. “I’m particularly pleased for Wayne Barnes who takes charge of his first RBS 6 Nations matches and I know that he will make the most of the opportunity that has been given to him.”
Elite Rugby Director, Rob Andrew MBE said “This is great news not only for the RFU but it’s also a tribute to all the hard work that Colin High, Ed Morrison and Brian Campsall have invested in the Union’s Elite Referee programme.”
