In part 2 of our IN FOCUS series we look at Championship newcomers Barnsley...as we predict there season and what they need to improve to stand a chance of surviving in the Championship come the end of 2006/07

05/06 season : Barnsley were promoted via the play-offs last season , finishing in 5th place on 72 points . They secured there play-off place on a last gasp victory on a dramatic last day . In a game which saw 2 penalties , 9 bookings a sending off and a late winner from the penalty spot on 82 minutes from Nardiello , cruising through the play-off semi finals and winning on penalties in the final seen Andy Richies men return to the glory days.

This season : Firstly all newly promoted teams seem to struggle, Barnsley have a lot of potential as they are ex-premiership and could potentially have a massive fan base , but in order to attempt survival the club needs to bring in some more quality and experience . Mcindoe from a league 1 side is not Championship experience. San togwell was also playing in League 1 last term + a conference striker?

They’ll finish higher if : They can add some real quality and find a striker that will score at least 15+ goals this season which Hayes couldn't manage in League 1 last season.

What www.bluenose.tk Predict's : 23rd ATM Barnsley are still a has been club and have alot of potential in there side but if they fail to shine then Barnsley are doomed.
