Non-league minnows AFC Fylde will host Manchester United in a lucrative friendly match next summer. Sir Alex Ferguson offered Fylde boss Mike Fuller the opportunity to face United at the recent Football Writers Association awards in Manchester. The club, who were known as Kirkham & Wesham F.C until the end of last season, play in the North West Counties League Premier Division.
Fylde are the current holders of the FA Vase following a 2-1 victory over Lowestoft Town at Wembley.

They currently play their football one division below FC United of Manchester in the football pyramid.

Sir Alex met Fylde boss Mick Fuller at the recent Northern Managers Awards Dinner at the Radisson Edwardian Manchester Hotel where he offered him a friendly match-up against the Red Devils.

Fuller said: "I joked that we were looking for a friendly when I picked up my award earlier.

"I was astounded when he turned round and he offered us a friendly,"
