United's trip to South Africa kicks-off with friendly matches against Kaizer Chiefs and the Orlando Pirates on the 19th and 22nd of July. The two Soweto teams will then battle it out for the right to play United a second time - this time with the Vodacom Challenge Cup on the line.

The Red Devils then journey up to Nigeria for a needless friendly against F.A Cup holders Pompey. The game will be a dress rehearsal for the Community Shield match on August 10^th at Wembley.

On their return to English shores, United play matches against Espanyol, Peterborough United and Juventus before the competitive action gets underway.
