Fletch hopes for big season at United

Wants more games

Darren Fletcher is determined to make a big impact at Old Trafford next season - despite speculation linking him away with the club. Reports have suggested that the Scotsman could leave the club to make way for new signings. However, the midfielder is keen to put a series of niggling injuries behind him and hopes to establish himself a spot in the first XI next term.
Fletcher notched up twenty-four United appearances last season - but many were from the bench; and the player had to contend with a series of injuries and intense competition for a first-team spot.

Speaking to the club's official web-site, the 24-year-old said: "To play in more matches than last season, that's obviously the target each season.

"You do your bit, you're patient and you've got to wait for your chance. I'll be ready to take my chance when it comes and I'll hopefully play a few more matches."

Fletcher played ninety minutes in last Saturday's friendly win at Aberdeen; and he'll be keen to prove his worth to the squad over a busy pre-season.
