United face their biggest week in years

After a tough scrap at the Nou Camp, Manchester United face a week that could well determine the destiny of their season. The Red Devils travel south to Stamford Bridge on Saturday as Chelsea look to keep the title race alive, ahead of next Tuesday's re-match with Barca. Can Sir Alex Ferguson muster up his most impressive trophy haul since 1999; or will the Reds fall at the final few hurdles?


United rode their luck a little at the Nou Camp. Despite Ronaldo's missed penalty, the home side dominated proceedings but couldn't turn their possession into clear-cut chances.

The Reds survived, a drab goalless draw doing them just fine, and will now be slight favourites to a book a European Cup final trip to Moscow against either Chelsea or the Scousers. However, a goalless draw away from home is always a dangerous result - and United are now under pressure to beat the La Liga giants.

United now face their biggest league game of the season. The Red Devils leave the sun and sands of Catalonia and travel to Stamford Bridge for a Saturday lunchtime kick-off. The destiny of the Premier League crown is still firmly in our own hands - but a Chelsea win could set up the most dramatic and exciting title race in years.


Fergie may be without Nemanja Vidic for Saturday's trip to the capital. The tenacious Serb sat out on Wednesday night with a stomach bug and may miss out again. In that case, Wes Brown and Rio Ferdinand would be likely to continue at the heart of the defence with Owen Hargreaves in an unfamiliar right-back role.

A win on Saturday would all-but secure United, thanks to their superior goal difference, a seventeenth championship crown. A defeat will put both teams on 80 points and send the race right down to the wire.

This is a massive time for the club. Come on United.
