their line-up whereas most of our team are about 5ft 8in.
A very quiet game with little opportunities. The visitors mounted the first attack of the game when Paul Garvey timed his run pass the defence perfectly before keeper Mike Kinsella produced a good save to block the striker's effort. Vauxhall took the lead seven minutes before the interval when Robbie Lawton's left-wing cross was met by the head of Motors centre half Craig Robinson who found the back of the net to set Vauxhall on the way. Half Time: Vauxhall Motors 1-0 Ashton United After the restart Vauxhall had a great chance to put the game virtually beyond Ashton when visiting keeper Daniel Trueman saved a close range effort from Peter Cumiskey. After that it was all Ashton and the game took a turn for the worse for The Motormen. Then came an Ashton fight-back when full back Danny White finished of a goal mouth scramble when he struck home from close range. With 15 minutes remaining another set-piece for Ashton game caused Vauxhall's problems. Craig Fleury whipped in a good ball that Dean Johnson flicked on and Ashton sub Phil Deeney scored with his first touch of the game.
