| Both sides came out battling well and playing some good football. A quarter of an hour into the
game saw the first chance as Town's midfielder Wilford struck his shot just wide of Kinsella's
goal. Wilford started to impress and make his mark on the game when he had his second chance.
A good long ball from Gary Townsend fell into the path of Wilford who took to long on the ball
that made it easy for Kinsella to block his delayed shot.
On 27 minutes Worksop players and fans both thought they had broken the deadlock when Steve Hawkes crossed in a free kick that Bambrook got his head to and the ball appeared to go well over the line. The ref however, thought different as he consulted his linesman, whose flag stayed down and the score remained at 0-0. Bambrook did not argue with the decision. Last time he argued in a match against The Motormen he saw red as he was dismissed playing for Wakefield & Emley. Worksop were playing very well at this stage and were looking more comfortable on the ball than Vauxhall. The Motormen came back into it in terms of possession, Peter Cumiskey struck wide following a corner from Robbie Lawton. Not long after Carl Nesbitt fed Wayne McDermott in whose well struck effort was saved by Town's shot stopper McCarthy. In the 42nd minute Terry Fearns shown some good skill and produced a fine shot that McCarthy tipped over the bar. There was then one more chance before the interval and this time it fell to the visitors. Paul Sykes header just wide from another good set-piece from Hawkes. Half Time: Vauxhall Motors 0-0 Worksop Town It took less than 10 minutes after the restart for Vauxhall to find the opener. An-inswinging corner from Carl Nesbitt somehow missed everyone in the area and ended up finishing in the back of the net. Moments later saw movement on the Worksop bench as Wilford replaced Andy Todd. Worksop were very unlucky from a set piece Mark Haran headed against the crossbar after getting on the end of Caudwell's corner. With 22 minutes remaining Worksop grabbed a deserved equaliser after good two touch passing between Davies, Townsend and Hawes saw the final pass go to Caudwell who tooked home the equaliser. Bambrook then had a chance to score as the ball was played to him, his shot went straight into the arms of Kinsella. Simeone Bambrook was then involved in the next incident as his legs were take from under him in the area, but thankfully for Vauxhall the ref waved play on. I think even the Vauxhall fans would agree it was a penalty though. The Motormen could of won right at the depth when a free kick on the edge of the area was struck against the wall and looked like it hit an arm. Appeals from the Vauxhall players did nothing to change the Mr. Graham's mind as he waved play on again in the match. There wasn't a classic 4-3 that we witnessed at Babbage Way, but it certainly could of been if some decisions were different. A point a piece was probably a fair result.
