| On the back of a 5-0 defeat to Radcliffe Borough and just one win in the last seven
outings Motors travelled to Yorkshire, it what was Paul Rowlands' last game in charge as he
withdrew his interest in taking over full time. Seven applicants were to be interviewed the
next day. (2nd Nov).
Bradford got off to a great start when Hayward broke the deadlock after 3 minutes as he struck a great shot passed Hilton in the Motors' goal. The goal woken Vauxhall up and they started playing well and creating chances but just couldn't score. However, after 24 minutes, one the goalscorers from last week Kevin Lynch, completed a great passing move by finishing from close range to put The Motormen on level terms. The half went on into the second minute of added on time and Hayward grabbed his brace as he struck a low shot that went into the bottom left of Hilton's goal. Half Time: Bradford Park Avenue 2-1 Vauxhall Motors The Motormen came out in search of an all important equaliser, their hope was soon spoilt when Collins fired the home side 3-1 in front. Full credit to Vauxhall as they failed to give up and were soon rewarded with a Terry Fearns goal with 20 minutes still left in the game. The visitors pushed on strong but Nicky Young was twice denied by the Avenue shot stopper. The home side were under pressure as Vauxhall continued to put pressure on their defence but to no great value as no one could find the finishing touch. With 5 minutes remaining Motors' pushed virtually everyone up to try and get something out of the game. With big gaps appearing at the back Crossley ensured Motors were going to suffer another defeat as he slooted home passed helpless Hilton. That was not the end of the goals. Hayward bagged his hat-trick before Avenue sub Walsh rounded off Motors' embarassment.
