McCann Fires Late Winner

Not for the first time this season The Motormen shown they never give up until the final kick of the game as they came back from 1-0 down at Radcliffe to win 2-1 in the dying seconds.

The home side had the majority of possession in the first half that led to Andy Ralph continuing his impressive start to the campaign tipping a shot from Chris Denham just over the bar. From the resulting corner Motors' Craig Robinson kept the score at 0-0 by blocking a shot from the same player after a good corner from Richard Battersby.

Very few chances were created from either side and the score line remained the same until half time.

Half Time:Radciffe Borough 0-0 Vauxhall Motors

The Motormen started the second half the better as full back Wayne McDermott produced a great shot that was followed up by an excellent save from Danny Hurst in the Borough goal.

Shortly after the home side were put under pressure again by Vauxhall when striker Nicky Young saw his shot well blocked by Danny Hurst.

As The Motormen continued to dominate they just couldn't find a way past the impressive shot stopper Danny Hurst. Instead the home side capitilised on Vauxhall chances, and it was them that took the lead in the 76th minute when Jody Barim headed the ball towards goal that Ralph saved but he was unable to save again as the same player tapped in from close range.

The Motormen reacted extremely well and within 4 minutes the score was level when Robbie Lawton's cross from the right fell into the path of Peter Cumiskey who pulled it back to Nicky Young on the edge of the area and he made no mistake in striking the back of the net with a well struck shot.

In the 91st minute former Burscough striker Lee Kissock thought he had all three points in the bag for Vauxhall but he was denied by the woodwork.

At this point in the game you would all think its game over and the points would be shared, but great spirit from The Motormen saw them score right at the depth as Neal McCann tapped in from close range.
