Cheshire Cup Triumph |
| Vauxhall cruised to a 4-1 victory over North West Counties side Alsager
Town. An understrength Vauxhall team took the field to face Alsager, and
took the lead just before 20 minutes when a Robbie Lawton cross was headed home by Nicky Young
for his first of the season.
It took until 65 minutes for Motors to double their advantage, Powner in the Alsager goal parried a Wright shot away, but couldn't keep out Anton Lally who struck his first goal for the club. Minutes later ex-Shrewsbury and Welshpool youngster Neal McCann scored the third from close range. Things got slightly better for the visitors when Will Harley scored a late consolation, but a Alan Griffiths free-kick allowed Lee Kissock to become the THIRD player of the night to get their first Motors goal and restored the three goal advantage. Vauxhall Motors: Hilton, Lynch, McDermott, Lally, Griffiths, Robinson, Mc-Cann, Lawton, Kissock, Young (Fearns 81), Wright (Nesbitt 81). Attendance: 70 |
