Robbo Scores As Motors Draw

The first chance of this friendly went the home sides way when early on in the first half led to Kevin "Roy Keane" Lynch powering a fierce shot across the goal.

Shortly before the end of the first half was a well struck shot by Terry Fearns but fortunately for the visitors the ball was saved by the Morecambe shot stopper Mawson.

The Conference outfit looked alot more sharper after the break, with a number of chances going begging, including a fantastic save from Manchester-born shot stopper Andy Ralph, from an Howell effort.

With 13 minutes left, Vauxhall broke the deadlock. A Neil McCann corner from the right was met well by the head of former shrimps starlett Craig Robinson to claim his first pre-season goal.

Morecambe came back strong, after numerous chances squandered, Dodgson went close, but just wide of the left-hand post. As the visitors continued to pile on the pressure they were rewarded when Dodgson crossed from the left and Thompson's Headed shot looped over Ralph.

The ever-improving Robbo has had some terrific displays over pre-season capped of with a dream goal against his former employers.

Next up Motors play their last home pre-season fixture as they entertain Peter Davenport's Bangor City. After a good performance against TNS Vauxhall have proved they can cope with the top Welsh teams.
