The Southend Evening Echo is reporting that Southend manager Steve Tilson is preparing to sign another player within the week after the securing the signature of Yeovil's Steve Collis last week. The full article reads as follows.

Blues boss Steve Tilson hopes to make his second signing of the summer this week.

The Shrimpers chief has secured the services of goalkeeper Steve Collis from Yeovil Town.

But Tilson is now determined to bring in more fresh faces in the next few days.

"We have spoken to loads of people but it's just a question of agreeing terms with them," said the Seasiders chief.

"I would like to think there could be more good news later this week but it's not certain because you never know what is going to happen and I don't want to get people's hopes up."

ilson has been linked to a number of players, including Coventry City's Andy Morrell and Yeovil Town's Matt Harrold, but he has ruled out a swoop for Millwall forward Barry Hayles.

"He isn't someone we're looking at," said Tilson.
