Steve Collis
Southend United are chasing Yeovil Town goalkeeper Steve Collis.
Blues are keen to sign another shot-stopper to provide cover and competition for first choice custodian Darryl Flahavan.
And assistant manager Paul Brush has confirmed the club have held talks with Collis regarding a move to Roots Hall.
"It's important we bring in another goalkeeper to strengthen our squad and Steve is someone we have spoken to," confirmed Brush.
"That's as far as it's gone at the moment but with Bart Griemink retiring making sure we bring in another keeper is quite high up in our list of priorities."
Collis, 25, made 24 appearances for Yeovil last season, keeping four clean sheets.
He started his career with hometown club Barnet before spending time with Nottingham Forest, Aldershot and Tiverton before joining Yeovil in November 2002.
Collis - who stands at 6ft 1ins tall - has fought with highly rated keeper Chris Weale to be first choice at Huish Park but he finally became the club's number one during the previous campaign.
