Troedyrhiw 2
Garden Village 0
Welsh League Division 2 Saturday February 11th, 2006
Garden Village were beaten for only the second time in their last 13 outings as Troedyrhiw narrowed the gap on Bob Lloyd's side with this win at The Willows.
The home side took the lead in the first-half when top-scorer Richie Parker headed from close-range and their lead was extended in the second-half through a long-range Lee Brooker effort.
Village had both midfielder Chris Thomas and top-scorer Ashley Richards suspended for this trip to Troedyrhiw.
Said manager Bob Lloyd: "The game itself was very disappointing on our behalf although we did create some good chances.
"No complaints for the first goal poor marking from a corner giving their forward a free header, this was disappointing as we had spoke about it before the game.
"We lost Derrick Jenkins with concussion mid-way through the half, he had to be taken to hospital as he didn't know where he was!
"Second half was a game played mostly in midfield where we lost on on Taz' (Chris Thomas) absence."
He added: "All in all a Saturday to forget about and lets concentrate on the next game against Caldicot Town next weekend."
